Lawrence & Bee Khim

18.09.2008

I really need to get into the habit of updating my blog! I have been meaning to post this right after the shoot but work piled up and before I knew it, two weeks have passed!

Lawrence and Bee Khim’s wedding was held on the first weekend of September. On the bride’s side, the morning started off with the makeup. Gene, Bee Khim’s sister is a part-time makeup artist and she was busy all morning getting everyone ready – the bride, their mom and two of their other sisters. Jin was a superwoman indeed! She handled everyone’s makeup and hair and in between, ran off to prepare all the games for the boys’ arrival.

Their wedding started with the traditional “Chip San Neong” (in Cantonese, meaning “bridal pickup”). All of Lawrence’s boys came in sports cars and played games before they were allowed to enter the house! This followed by the Chinese tea ceremonies at both sides, and the ended with a grand dinner at Sunway Resort.

Their wedding reception was the largest we’ve ever photographed – there were 140 tables! (1400 guests!) Lawrence had organized numerous performances such as Salsa and Rumba! Lawrence himself dedicated a song to Bee Khim on stage which was very romantic! The MC also made the couple go on stage to play some games which were pretty hilarious!

Congrats to Lawrence & Bee Khim!

Here are some photos of their wedding…

When I first arrived at Red Cap Square, the first thought that hit my mind was “Oh man! The wall is not covered and is raining!”.

Luckily after about 30 minutes, the rain lifted, the skies cleared and I was able to setup our lighting. Initially, it was quite slow as clubbers trickled into Red Cap. As the music started pumping and the night wore on, more people started coming in and the party began!

Freedom Series in Penang started off with a bang as they got the DJ to spin popular tracks on the stage outside Momo.

Since it was the eve of Merdeka, the crowd came in early and I was triggering non-stop all the way till 2am! The night was punctuated with fireworks at 12 midnight to commemorate Malaysia’s Independence.

I had a great time and met some pretty interesting people who were not camera shy and “let it out” infront of the camera!

Got a call from Fiona asking me to do a location shoot for the new Dunhill store at Pavilion.

Was a little bit nervous seeing that this is my first proper location shoot.

Arrived there a little earlier than expected and was very relieved to find out that the store was not too big. it had a cozy feel to it which made my job just a little bit easier.

Covered every inch of the store and proceeded home to get the photos ready for the client to choose them.

Was in touch with Fiona over e-mail (she was in Hong Kong vacationing) on how to prepare the photos for the client.

Thank goodness it wasn’t too hard to get that part sorted!
