I’ve sorted 7000 photos out of the 10,000 since Monday and I’m determined to stay away from my laptop after this! After the intense sorting of photos, I’ve realized 2 important things: 1) Always sit comfortably with good posture. 2) Always take a break from the screen, stretch your neck, fingers, move around. My neck’s been feeling very strained since last night and it’s mainly due to the intensity of staring at photos. I really think a warm buckwheat pillow around my neck while I work will relieve the pain in my neck… am looking for one!

Here’s a preview of Yun Lee & Aik Hon’s pre-wedding shoot yesterday. I was bouncing off the walls yesterday when we arrived at KLPac…. We’ve never shot there before and I was hyped out!!! More photos to come later (I say “later” because we have a huge backlog of photos to post and haven’t had the chance to!)

It’s Monday and my “weekend” started today after my last pre-wedding shoot on the 4th consecutive day (I am exhausted!) since Friday. My so-called “weekend” entails the luxury of a 1hr-nap in the afternoon and having the tv on while I sort through the many many photos we’ve collected over the weekend. There’s at least 10,000 photos and I’m a third done.

So I thought I’d have a lot more personal time on my hands after completing my dissertation… I thought WRONG! Work has been piling on and this weekend was all shoot and little play. But I’m totally focused and going 100% full steam!

David, Chen and I shot Maye & Winston’s pre-wedding shoot at the Avillion yesterday. It was David’s first shoot being back from his stint in Kuching and it definitely has been awhile since I lost shot with him! We had a lot of fun as usual and weather was just perfect as expected. =)

Here’s a preview!

Thank you for all your feedback provided on the photography course survey posted a week back! The majority of you preferred a month-long course and my apologies for those who voted for a full day one … we will consider that in future if there’s a demand for it!

FIFOTO 101: The Basics will be based on an interactive concept. There will be theory, practical assignments and challenges! If you’re expecting to sit in a class and listen to us lecture for 3 hours … then this is not for you! We believe in learning by doing and improving via constructive feedback.

Sure, a lot of theories can be found in books or online. BUT! The value of this course comes from the interactions you will have with us and your peers. There will be sharing and discussion sessions and the challenges are designed to push your creativity to its limits. Apart from the weekly classes, be prepared to spend some time on practical photography assignments!

Please forward this to your friends who might be interested!

The smell of freedom is SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEETTTT!! Today, I’m officially no longer a hermit! There you go! I said it! I’m no longer a hermit and I plan to gain my social life back with a vengeance! It’s been a torturous few months with nothing but work and school and work and school. I couldn’t even do dinner with friends! But all that discipline was definitely worth it… as I submitted my paper this morning, and twittered/facebooked about my new-found joy, I found out that quite a number of my classmates had extended their deadline! I am sooooooo glad this is over! It feels really good to watch tv without feeling guilty!!

Fiona Lim, BBA, MBA. Woohoooo!

As much as there is to be happy about, I can’t help but acknowledge the other side of my reality. As the academic chapter of my life closes, another chapter of my life has recently ended as well. I believe in fate and want to still believe in happily-ever-after. I think I still do…. I think the weddings I shoot every weekend help me stay positive. Couples like Iziana & Norman give me hope =)

When Steve & I visited Iziana’s last Thursday and saw the partial decorations in the garden, we just knew that it was going to be a fantastic ceremony and were psyched for the shoot! And we were right! On the day, the garden was beautifully transformed – they had the best tents ever…. they were transparent with starlight dangling in the air! More to come soon!
