2009 October | FIFOTO Blog - Part 3

It’s baby popping season! Within this week alone, three hot mommas gave birth to their first borns! I’d like to congratulate Karen & Barry, Jocelyn & Jinh and Joyce & Kenny! And as the new proud parents welcome their new editions in their lives, I’m sure they all have panda eyes and perhaps, are also missing out on some good nights’ sleep! Am sure they will get the hang of parenthood soon enough! Congrats guys! Can’t wait to meet your little ones!

Here are the pregnancy portraits we took a couple of weeks back! What can I say? These mommas are just HOT!

October 6, 2009, Karen & Barry welcome Isaac Kyeson Kluner!

OOps! I forgot.. their first baby is Claudia!

Oct 11, 2009, after only 1.5hrs of labor, Jocelyn & Jinh meet their “little angry Korean”, Jacob Lim!

Bam-Bam insisted to be in all the shots! (We had to keep her in the meeting room after that!)

Oct 12, 2009, Joyce & Kenny meet their little girl, Sarah Yong!

We were aiming for “Blue Steel”… see the resemblance?

Last Sunday was the FIFOTO 101 inaugural class and from the feedback I’ve been getting, it went very well! The butterflies in my stomach were drowned by Heineken within the first 15 minutes and as more and more people asked questions, the nervousness soon dissipated. And before I knew it, 3 hours had gone by and I had reached the end of my slides!

For those of you who aren’t aware of FIFOTO 101, it’s a weekly class that takes place every Sunday of October. Prior to class#1, students were asked to submit their best photo. (These will be shown later this month). I received pretty interesting photos – of bikes, statues, lovers and of course, the infamous Tyson.

This week’s assignment is “The Apple” and the photos are to reflect any of the theories discussed in class last Sunday which, included Aperture, Shutter, Metering and White Balance. And as the photos are slowly being emailed over, I am blown away by their creative input and demonstration of their technical understanding on those topics!

Here are the shots! (Pls note: no editing was allowed, these shots are straight out of camera!)

Please vote for your favorite photo, leave a comment and tell us why you like it! Poll closes tomorrow (Sunday Oct 11) at 12pm!

This week flew by so quickly and with 3 consecutive shoots, 3 consecutive days of Macs for breakfast and a 8km run (I joined the Nike+ Ambassador challenge) clocked in thus far, I am totally looking forward to the weekend!

A few months have gone by since I first met Foong Sim & Clement and I completely forgot how hilarious these two are! Clement’s sense of humor just bounces off the wall and it definitely is so contagious! Had a ton of fun shooting their ROM on Monday and their pre-wedding on Tues!

Here’s a preview!

Boy has it been a hectic few days! Thursday was spent at client site, testing the Nikon WT-4 wireless transmitter for the recharge events Steve & Jason will be shooting all of October. After 4 long and stressful hours, we finally got it to work but that relief was short-lived. Before we knew it, the batteries on the WT-4 ran out and after we found fresh ones, it happily decided NOT to work again! Steve & I returned to client site later in the night again and it miraculously decided to work! My experience with Nikon cameras last Thurs just proved how user-unfriendly they are, from finding menus to opening the CF card slot!

Friday was dedicated to shooting portraits of the Raymond Weil ladies. I photographed 3 very interesting and successful women; Izrin of Innai Batik, Su of Delectable Cakes and renowned jazz singer, Atilia. I will blog more on this soon!

Tomorrow will be the inaugural class for FIFOTO 101 and I’m stoked! I spent 2 days preparing for the slides which involved a little online research and going through my old travel photos to use as samples, a good trip down memory lane!

And here are the pre-wedding photos of Yen & Chook (nickname) that I’m so thrilled to blog about! They are the most chilled out couple I’ve ever met! Needless to say, it was a breeze working with them on the portrait session and then a few days later, at their wedding (will post photos later!). So of course, they were open to the idea of shooting at a few abandoned lots around town and I’m glad they were! Yen wore a cute deep blue dress which popped in the photos! They are so adorable together!

The lighting was just perfect that morning!

One of my favorite shots of the day!

My other fav!

Aren’t they just adorable?
