2009 December | FIFOTO Blog - Part 2

Sometimes I wished I had OCD, just for the sake of the tidiness of my home. Yes, I admit it, I’m a messy person, as much as I don’t like to be, I can’t seem to help it! I blame it on the lack of time and lack of space! I pay my respect to all the super working wives and mothers out there who can juggle career, family life, personal time and still keep the house clean! Lord knows I have difficulties just juggling work and personal life! Can OCD be acquired? =P

Pauline, Ben & I have become good friends ever since we shot their wedding two years back. They have moved to Melbourne since and we’ve managed to keep in touch through the years. It was really good seeing them again after so long and they haven’t changed a bit (except for Pauline’s china doll bangs, which I absolutely love! Maybe coz we now share the same taste in hairdos!)! I had explored the city before the shoot and knew exactly where to bring them! We had a great time catching up and it felt like only a few months back when I got them to “chin-out and down”!

Love love love the props/accessories she brought along for the shoot! (This girl is experienced… after 3 shoots with us!)

Doesn’t she look cute?

This is Ben, teasing Pauline

Here’s one of my favorite shots of them at Centre Place

We ended up at Section 8 for a beer and a quick shoot in the colorful open-air container bar

This is my second favorite beer I tried in Melbourne. Little Creatures Pilsener tops my list!

Bam-Bam turns 12 today! Yes! 12 human years, which is actually 60 dog years! She’s an old aunty but she’s managed to keep her figure and looks! I still can’t believe I’ve had her for 12 years! Time flies! I still remember the time I bought her in my 2nd semester in college.. she was tiny and red brown like Mr Bean’s teddy bear! And even when she was just a couple months old, she could jump so high she leaped over the barrier… She’s a lot more docile now but every now and then, still pulls a fast one on me, Mei Ling and Emilia who every now and then, babysit her. This greedy little girl has one thing and only one thing on her mind – FOOD! and will stop at nothing to get it, often making a big mess which we’ll have to clean up afterwards! Other than that, she’s a darling – adorable, affectionate, obedient and behaves herself in public. She’s my companion, my baby, my life.

Bam Bam, I love you! Here’s to many more playful years to come!!

This week, I babysat my 13-year old nephew, Nata who flew in from Singapore to visit Bam-Bam and I. I’m not the motherly kind and couldn’t have imagined babysitting to be as easy as it was. And judging by all the thank you smses, facebook posts and e-greetings I’ve received from Nata, I’m proud to say I think I did a great job entertaining the kid and I must say, am quite pleasantly surprised at how he brightened up my week while he was here! This boy is one helluva smart kid and comes up with the most witty answers which never ceases to crack me up! When I commented on how he’s a fussy eater, he replied, “I’m not fussy, I’m just a food specialist”. When I hurried him at his hand at scrabble, he said, “Don’t rush excellence”. I mean, seriously? Where do they come up with these lines?
And the cutest part… he refers to my things as the “Holy F”! He got a kick ass sense of humor and not to mention, he’s a fast learner! After teaching him a few tricks in Photoshop (I swear he wanted to help me with my work!), he helped me with my editing! This kid’s amazing!

Every girl loves BLING! And if she tells you she doesn’t, she’s probably lying! We are just genetically wired with an affinity for anything that sparkles! My senses heightened as I approached the impressive Swarovski booth at the Islamic Fashion Festival. A wide range of accessories and clothes designed by various international fashion designers incorporating Swarovski crystals were on display. What I thought would take me an hour to photograph the booth and the items on display, it took more than 2! I left the shoot mesmerized by all the glitter!

On the Gala night, I returned to photograph the runway show and absolutely fell in love with some of the gowns!

This is my absolute favorite!
