2010 January | FIFOTO Blog - Part 2

The past few days have been tough for me. Last weekend, I picked Bam-Bam up from Penang and noticed she kept “saluting” (lifting her front left paw over her ears, as if giving you a high-5) with her front left paw and kept tripping every now and then when she walked. Mom attributed the slipping to the slippery marble floor so we thought nothing of it. On the night of our return to KL, Bam-Bam kept doing the “salute”  and what terrified me the most was when she lost her balance and ran around in circles aimlessly. I knew something was seriously wrong!

Have been to the vet twice already and the vet suspects her nervous system is deteriorating due to her old age, causing her to have seizures and uncontrollable movements (Thank God the uncontrollable movements in her case are the salutes, which means they are minor seizures). I’ve been keeping track of her seizures, how often they occur, how far apart the occurrences are and how severe each one is. I’m so thankful to say that the ones she’s been getting in the past two days have been mild and have been decreasing.

As positive as I am, I couldn’t help but feel depressed when I first noticed her condition a few days back. However, Emilia pointed out something I thought is pretty true – that dogs feels this kind of things and it may very well have a negative effect on her. So… I’ve been trying to stay positive and am praying for her health and speedy recovery. I’m a firm believer in “THE SECRET” and I use it in my everyday life. (How do you think we get perfect weather for all our outdoor shoots?) I also believe that the more good vibes + energy that is being sent out to the universe, the more powerful the influence. So, just as Bam-Bam has always put a smile on our faces and brightened up our days (if you’ve met her, you’d know what I mean!), I’m asking for your help in sending good wishes, blessings and positive energy to Bam-Bam so that she will recover from this and be back to her normal chirpy self!

If you’re unfamiliar with “THE SECRET”, here’s how you can help Bam-Bam get well!

THINK POSITIVE: Imagine Bam-Bam healthy! Imagine her playing fetch and bouncing off walls! (Well, not literally!) Imagine her as Super Bam, overcoming all obstacles and outliving the other poodles her size!

The vet asked me to video record every seizure for him to give a more accurate diagnosis of her condition. So here’s one of them! I can’t believe she can still look cute while having a seizure!

Pls send her your positive vibes!!!

On a positive note, she seems more like herself again tonight, playing fetch and wanting food! I decided to take a video of her being her normal bubbly self so that you have a frame of reference as to what to positively imagine!

It has really been a while since I last updated a blog entry here as well as shoot. Mainly due to the fact I was away for a good half of 2009. Certainly does feels really good to be back! While the rest of the FIFOTO crew was out on their annual trip (I had to stay behind due to other commitments), I covered the Zinc location shoot.

Nice, big place with a sense of artistry I can’t quite explain. While shooting the space, I felt that there wasn’t a single angle that would make the space less than what it is..a work of art. Even the bright piece in front of the space makes a bold statement!

Happy 2010!!!

7.01.2010

Ok, I know, I know, I’m a couple of days late but hey! better late than never! Can’t blame a girl for taking a break once a year! =) Hope you had as great a 2010 countdown as I did! I celebrated the New Year with close friends and we partied all night long! I also got a chance to meet up and party with a couple of my UT college mates who I haven’t seen in like 8 years! (Isn’t that crazy? Yes, that’s how long I’ve been outta college!) Also got to meet a few new friends who rocked the town! I had a blast in taipei and am making a promise to myself (& Duke) to make it a yearly thing from now onwards! Special thanks to Duke, Angie, Chantelle and family for taking such good care of us during our stay there in Taipei! And big hugs + love to Fiona & Ming for joining me on this crazy rockin’ Taipei party trip!

2010. It’s gonna be a great year, I can just feel it! 2009 went by so quickly and we were blessed with the opportunity to be part of so many memorable and fantastic events and to be involved in so many exciting projects! More importantly, this journey has allowed us to meet so many new and interesting people, many of whom have become great friends! 2009 was also a year of recognition for me. Being selected to be one of 6 female personalities to represent the new Noemia collection by Raymond Weil and being featured in Juice for Tiger’s Winners campaign, I am truly honored to be given credit for my contributions to the photography industry in which I love and live for. And what better way to kick start the new year than to be one of 3 artists featured in the upcoming Heineken Green Room State of Mind Project! The Preview Party was held at Daikanyama last night and a selection of our works will be exhibited there till January 15th! So do drop by anytime from now till then to check it out! Or, check out the Heineken Green Room party at KL Live on Jan 15th!

A big THANK YOU to the FIFOTO team, our friends, clients and peers for your continued love and support for FIFOTO! Here’s to a ROCKIN’ 2010 and wishing you all the best in love, life, health & wealth!!!

Here are some of my favorite wedding shots from 2009!!!
