David & Jin Jin

20.06.2011

It seemed like only yesterday when David was the youngest to join the FIFOTO crew but now he’s been called “old fart” but our younger guys and he’s all matured, settled down and married! As I had mentioned earlier on my previous post on their Pre-wedding, David & Jin-Jin were ready to work us like a dog for their wedding day and work like a dog, we did!

His wedding was held over 3 days and luckily, he decided to give Steve, Aips & I a break and let us sit through the dinner reception as guests! We were rewarded with macaroons for our hard work and if I was surprised with 2 years’ unlimited supply of macaroons as compensation, I’d be more than happy!!! (hint hint *wink*) There were so many quaint details for us to take when we got to Jin Jin’a place. I found her Sister’s (who is graduating with a degree in Fashion almost as we speak! Congrats Xiang Mun!!) mannequin and sewing machine especially interesting! This talented young girl designed the bride’s lovely gown and the bridesmaids dresses! But what impressed me was her latest creation I noticed hanging over a chair – a dress made from safety pins! It gave me flashbacks of those Gianni Versace days! OMG! That was so 1990′s!

Their church wedding was held at the Assumption Church and our florist Mng had decorated the place beautifully! The aisle was lined with flower pews and each row of seats was finished with little pots of roses! It was so sweet to see the two lovebirds exchange loving glances throughout the entire ceremony, especially after 8 years of courtship… The next day was the chip san Leong and tea ceremony. David & the boys arrived and the battle of the chee mui’s began! David looked somewhat sexy in his yellow raincoat, accessorized with an Aunty bra and grandmama undies which said, “Spank me”. He seemed to enjoy his man-boobs as well, fondling them every chance he could!

Jason (who was kind enough to agree to shoot, even though it was his birthday!) & Nicholas shot their dinner reception at Tropicana that night. All I remember of that night are the superyummylicious macaroons which gave me a sugar rush and us trying to tame Steve’s inappropriate loud behavior. Jason (Ting), one of our photographers from a few years back were at our table too. So it was really nice to catch up with everyone, including soon-to-be momma & pappa Leongs!

Congrats to David & Jin-Jin!!!

David had a very difficult time (as it shows in his expression below!) opening the bottle… hmmm… I wonder what that means….

Happy Birthday Jason!

Angeline & Jeeves

8.06.2011

He’s a Dr. She’s a Dr. Both Malaysian, living and practicing medicine in the UK. It couldn’t be a more perfect match! Jeeves is an OBGYN and Angeline practices emergency medicine. They recently moved back to Malaysia to get married and we are honored to be a part of their special day celebrated in true 1-Malaysia style.

The first event was the Hindu temple wedding. Angeline looked gorgeous in both her forest green and deep red sarees with gold trimmings and embroidery.   I can’t reiterate it enough but I’ve always been a big fan of Indian weddings. The mesh of colors from the sarees, flowers and decorations is a photography orgasm, not to be rude or anything. And even more special, is what Malaysia truly represents – a mesh of culture, religion and people and how we all embrace it so seamlessly. I mean, how unique and special it is for a bride to have henna tattoo on her hands as she places them on her red silk cheong sam!

A week later was the second event, the Chinese Tea Ceremony at Angeline’s side of the family. Jeeves looked elegant in a very unique raw silk red qi bao, one I’ve never seen before and totally love! And just as Angeline and her family were fascinated by the abundant prayer and blessing rituals at the temple wedding, Jeeves and Jeevan (brother) were just as intrigued by the Chinese tea ceremony rituals and prayers. This is what I love about our country ( I can’t say about much else!) !!

The last and final event was the PARTY! With 40 of their close friends and relatives, it was an intimate celebration of their love with their loved ones. Of course, the best part for me was the dancing at the end when Jeeves took off his jacket, swung it around a few times and busted some moves, MJ-style!

Congrats to Angeline & Jeeves, two of the most laid back and lovable people ever!

Doesn’t she look amazing in her saree?

The Tea Ceremony

Again, here’s a perfect example of… Malaysia truly Asia….

Angeline reminds me of Lucy Liu… see the resemblance?

The Party

It was my second time attending a store launch and what a sight to see so many beautiful people at one place! There were men wearing classy suits, and of course the beautiful ladies, not to forget the yummy food and champagnes that were served throughout the night! DJ Goldfish was on the decks to pump up the atmosphere. Besides there was a magician who walked around the store to entertain the guests, and a master leather craftsman who showcased how the exquisite Dunhill goods were made. It was a classy launch by Dunhill and I’m sure it’d make a great impact with their new store!
