2011 November | FIFOTO Blog - Part 2

If I was pregnant (not anytime in the near future of course!), I’d love to have a body like Melinder’s. Looking radiant and just absolutely fabulous in her 3rd trimester, it was such a joy to photograph the new mom-to-be. Her hubby joined in the fun as well and coming from his *ahem* modeling background (or so he says hehe), he posed away as the camera clicked ! They are just so adorable together and their energy seemed to bounce off one another in the room!

Congrats to the lovely couple on their new addition to the family!

Bloom is …

What’s Bloom? It’s all THIS and MORE! So come on back to this space, sometime next week and get to know us a little bit better!

Traveling to Penang has always been all about overindulging on great Penang Hawker Food and this time, it was no exception. With Amran & Tini’s wedding stretching (or rather compacted) over 3 days, this was going to be an overly indulgent trip for both Nic & I!

The beautiful akad nikah ceremony was held at Tini’s home. Despite a little drama that involved a  lot of blood and required a doctor’s attention (lucky for Tini almost all the major professions were represented in her dulang entourage), the bride looked gorgeous in a sophisticated baju Melayu and so did the color-coordinated dulang girls! Amran and his stunning dulang boys who arrived in style, all dressed in matching navy silk baju’s, got straight to business (with the Tok Kadi, of course)! The groom looked very nervous but when it was time for him to shine, he aced his Lafaz on the first try! And then it was official, Tini and Amran were husband and wife!

The next day was the Bersanding reception hosted by Tini’s parents. This was the first time I have seen the Main Ballroom at the E&O filled to the brim! There were tables  even on the 2nd floor and in places I didn’t even know existed! It was during one of the speeches when we found out about the story of how Amran, the Penang banker boy, who woo-ed Tini,  the Penang banker girl, with their first date at a Lok-Lok stand! Trust Penangites to pick food over ambiance!

The 3rd and final event of the Amran & Tini festivities takes the cake for the most interesting journey to a wedding venue EVER! We were treated to an interesting trip up Penang Hill, at the back of a 4WD pick up, migrant worker style! With the 90 degree turns but thankfully at the mercy of an experienced Penang Hill driver, there was no need to go looking for a roller coaster ride! But the journey was well worth it, because being at Amran’s home atop Penang Hill was like being in the English countryside, with a truly breathtaking view!

The dinner reception was an intimate one, held at David Brown’s where close friends and family had the chance to mingle, enjoy the cool weather, beautiful decor and best of all, the spectacular view of Penang! And with a certain ‘someone’ catching the bridal bouquet, we can only hope for another truly wonderful wedding to happen sometime in the very near future!

When 4 super ladies get together and ideas bounce off one another, something blooms and magic happens! And everybody knows, girls just wanna have fun. So we’re dangling a little piece of carrot (or candy floss, or chocolate or whatever rocks your boat!) here in front of you for now and just as all girls like to tease, we hope you’d watch this space and come back for more on what’s happening behind closed doors…
